Manual and Common Doors

Features: Five ways of unauthorized entry through the regular steel, aluminum or wood door and preventive solutions.

Prying Door Open

There is usually a gap between the door and frame that allows the thief to pry it open with a flat screwdriver or similar tool. This action increases the gap and then the latch can be easily pushed to open the door.

Solution: A short plate to cover the latch is the absolute minimum that should be installed. An even better solution would be to install
a full-length plate from top to bottom, made of 1/4" aluminum. Better yet, one made of 3/16" steel or 1/8" stainless steel.

Breaking the doorknob

Doorknob locks are easily broken by either twisting it with a pipe wrench (which is very quiet), or by Hammering it open with hammer or big rock.

Solution: The doorknob can be replaced with a deadbolt or a blank cover on the outside. If fire regulations do not allow such an installation, the doorknob can be protected with a steel pipe guard.

Tampering with the deadbolt

Deadbolt can be pushed to one side and the door can be unlocked with a tiny screwdriver.

Solution: Heavy plate with a small hole (size depends on make of dead bolt) should be installed around the deadbolt to prevent this type of break and entry.

Reaching the doorknob from the outside

On some doors, the doorknob is sometimes easy to reach from the outside or it may be easy to bend the soft aluminum tubing to get someone's hand through the door.

Solution: An aluminum plate should be installed around the knob.

Breaking the glass on doors or windows

For convenience, many doors have glass windows installed in them. Some even has mesh-wire as well as so-called tamper proof glass installed. Problem here is robbers can easily break the glass to get through or even reach the doorknob.

Solution: There are two: 1) Security Film or 2) Window Bars.

1) Security Film: is generally a clear plastic with a very high optical quality. This laminated film is applied directly to glass surfaces (mostly on the interior). Adding a layer of plastic to glass makes the existing glass very strong and extremely hard to break into while maintaining the crystal clear optical qualities of the glass.

2) Security Bars: are well known security feature. We can custom make security bars over any window or door opening to suit your needs.
